Support Sake — the book cover

About the Book

On January 1, 2024, a catastrophic earthquake struck Japan's Noto Peninsula — destroying a beloved historic family-owned sake brewery that had stood for generations.

The Support Sake book is a richly photographed companion to the documentary film — a record of devastation, resilience, and the extraordinary community that rallied to rebuild. Written by Raechel and Seiko, it weaves together personal essays, interviews, and stunning photography from the Noto Peninsula.

Launched at the October 15, 2026 Tour Gala alongside the film premiere, it is a love letter to the peninsula, to sake, and to the enduring power of Kibou — 希望 — Hope.

History of Sake

The ancient origins of Japan's most revered craft — the rice, the water, the seasons, and the generations of brewers who kept the tradition alive.

02

Seiko

The keeper of a historic family brewery on the Noto Peninsula. Her story, her craft, and everything she stood to lose.

03

Raechel's Story

A San Diego mother who once endured her own devastating loss — and felt an immediate, profound connection to a stranger across the ocean.

04

Kibou Events

Hope in action. The sake appreciation gatherings, live music nights, and community events that turned compassion into momentum.

05

Falling Doves

The Hollywood rock band who brought their platform, their music, and their energy to the mission — performing across the country for Noto.

06

Fundraising

How the Support Sake Tour raised awareness and funds — the strategy, the people, and the moments that made it real.

07

Opposition

Not everyone believed. The obstacles, the doubts, and the resistance that had to be overcome to keep the mission moving forward.

08

The Storm

The hardest chapter. When the road got difficult and the weight of the mission threatened to overwhelm everything.

09
